Community Outreach

The purpose of the community outreach initiative is to offer health support and medical resources to the people especially in the rural areas and under privileged communities. We work among these communities to raise awareness about various health concerns in variety of groups like children, women, geriatrics etc.

We organize several rehabilitation screenings, to asses and prescribe physiotherapy treatment. We were a part of several medical camps and organized various health checkups providing free medicines, awareness programs on menstrual hygiene to adolescent girls, Poshan Mahan {awareness on nutrition} to school children at slums. So far, the number of beneficiaries through our community outreach activities account approximately up to 2500.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

SIMS College of Medical Lab Technology through Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences registered a self financed NSS Unit. Students are encouraged to participate in several Community Services to develop holistic life perspective among the students by making them study culture, tradition, habits, life style, resource utilization, wastages and its management, social problem, public administration system and the roles and responsibilities of different persons across different social systems.
